Second Grading Period Award Ceremony
Fairmoor Elementary would like to congratulate those students who have earned one or more of the following awards for the Second Grading Period. The awards will be given for perfect Attendance, Honor Roll, Effort Roll and Improvement. 
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, Februaruay 21,2018  where those students will be acknowledged at the Awards Assembly . 
The assembly times are as follows:
Fourth & Fifth Grade              1:00 pm 
First Grade & Kindergraten   1:45 pm
Third & Second Grade            2:20 pm
This assembly will be held in our gymnasium,  Parents of student reciving rewards will be notified. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Project Connect
What is Project Connect? 
 Project Connect ensures the educational rights of children and youth experiencing homelessness as outlined in the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Project Connect staff determine a family's eligibility for services, and work with parents , schools, community agencies, and surrounding school districts to ensure that homeless students in grades Pre-K through 12 have full and equal opportunity to succeed in school. 
Project Connect works with several agencies and surrounding school districts to provide assistance with:  
  • school selection and enrollment
  • school transportation
  • after-school tutoring and homework assistance at shelter agencies
  • book bags and school supplies for students 
  • addressing barriers that affect school attendance and full participation 
  • obtaining necessary documents such as birth certificates, school records, and medical records
  • dispute resolution 
Who is homeless?
The term "homeless children and youth" means individuals who lack a fixed, regular and adequate night -time residence. 
It includes those who are:
  • sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of home,economic hardship, 
  • living in motels or hotels.
  • staying in trailer parks or camp grounds due to the lack of alternative adequate accommodations.
  • living in emergency or transitional shelter.
  • abandoned in hospitals. 
  • awaiting foster care placement.
  • living on their own, such as youth who have run away or have been put out of their house.
School Dress Code

Please use the following guidelines for you child's School Uniform:

Fairmoor Elementary is a uniform dress code school.

The uniform dress code consists of:

  • White, navy blue, or light blue collar shirt (polo style) or blouse

  • Navy blue or khaki skirt, jumper or dress pants

  • Shoes should be tennis shoes or have a soft sole bottom


The following are NOT PERMITTED:

  • Tee shirts, halters, spaghetti straps and shirts that show midriffs

  • Logos or writing on shirts and / or basketball shorts

  • Sagging pants or pants that drag the ground

  • Hats, bandannas, sweatbands or wristbands

  • Wheelies, flip flops, heels, jellies, sandals
